Echo Uribe

Founder and Editor

Echo envisioned EchoSpeak as a platform to promote historic preservation in a straightforward and engaging way. Working with guest contributors, she connects experienced preservationists with those new to the practice.

After earning her B.S. in Radio-TV-Film, from The University of Texas, Echo worked as producer, writer, and editor for over a decade. In 2004, she embarked on an entirely new career supporting historians and history programs as a researcher, program coordinator, and administrator. She completed her M.A. in Historic Preservation from Goucher College in 2016, and has continued to hone her craft as a volunteer and promoter of preservation.

Professional Focus

Echo's primary interests include historic preservation, space history, military history, and film and television history.

"What is history? An echo of the past in the future; a reflex from the future on the past."  - Victor Hugo
